Coburn Introduces Companion Bill to Lankford's Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act

Statement

Representative James Lankford (R-OK), Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, applauded Dr. Coburn's introduction of the Senate companion to Lankford's bipartisan Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act (H.R. 1423). Lankford's Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act passed the House on February 25, 2014.

"I'm grateful to Dr. Coburn for introducing this "good government' bill in the Senate," said Lankford.

"Dr. Coburn's work in the Senate to shed light on the vast amount of waste in the federal government is second to none. This bill works toward the attainable goal of identifying exactly how hard-earned taxpayer dollars are spent, so Congress can finally purge inefficient programs. I am proud to join him in his fight to reform federal processes, promote transparency in federal spending and eliminate federal duplication and waste. Taxpayers and federal accountability organizations are waiting for congressional action to ensure that agencies and programs efficiently and productively use tax dollars. We can streamline federal programs while also improving existing programs and services for Americans.

"I urge Senate Majority Leader Reid to bring this bill to the Senate floor for a vote, so that Congress can show the American people we are serious about ending federal waste," concluded Lankford.
