Congresswoman Duckworth Announces FEMA Grant for Glendale Heights Stormwater Improvement Project

Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a $1,376,100 grant to the Village of Glendale Heights Stormwater Improvement Project. Funds from this grant will help cover costs for the redesign of the James Court Pond outlet, the installation of additional inlets and storm sewers in the Glendale Square Shopping Center, and the construction of a new six acre stormwater detention pond.

"Last year, the 8th District experienced severe flooding and it is crucial that our communities have the necessary infrastructure to protect against severe weather. This FEMA grant enables the Village of Glendale Heights to better prepare for stormwater and flooding problems that may occur in the future. The taxpayers of Illinois contribute more than their fair share to the Federal government and I am pleased to see that resources are coming back to the 8th Congressional District."
