Quigley Supports Loan Guarantees for Ukraine

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 4152, a bipartisan bill making critical U.S. loan guarantees available for Ukraine:

"The Ukrainian people do not want to return to the Russian sphere of influence and have made their democratic aspirations well known. U.S. loan guarantees are a promising step forward that will support Ukraine's economic stability and send a clear message to Russia that the United States will not let its dangerous aggression stand. I'm proud to support the Ukrainian people in their continued fight for a strong, unified and democratic Ukraine."

Rep. Quigley is a member of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus and represents a thriving Ukrainian population in Illinois' 5th Congressional District. He recently spoke out against the violenceduring a meeting of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Illinois Division and has met with Ukrainian officials to address concerns voiced by the local Ukrainian community. In February, he called for targeted sanctionsagainst the Ukrainian officials responsible for escalating the violence.
