Issue Position

I served four deployments in Iraq as a Marine in the infantry, so veterans' issues are fundamentally important to me for obvious reasons. I've been overseas in harm's way when people in Washington told me that we didn't need armored vehicles, that we didn't need more translators, and that we weren't going to change our strategy to win the war until after the next Congressional election. I've seen fellow Americans suffer and die because Congress couldn't do its job. And I want to help make sure that doesn't happen again.

Through my time in the Marines, I learned the pride, joy, and sense of fulfillment that comes from serving others, and doing your part for your country, your beliefs, and the fellow Americans fighting on your left and right. Some congressmen go to Washington to get re-elected. Others fight tooth and nail for what their district needs to thrive. I want to be our great district's fighter in Washington.
