Markey Statement on New Sulfur-Stripping Gasoline Rule

Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee and chair of the Climate Change Clearinghouse, released the following statement regarding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new rule to remove sulfur from gasoline:

"Cleaner fuels mean cleaner cars and cleaner lungs. Whether it's removing lead or sulfur, every step we take to reduce pollution will make our nation healthier and our air safer to breathe. This action by the Obama administration will protect the people of Massachusetts and Americans everywhere."
