Lankford Statement on Latest Obamacare Announcement to Delay Plan Cancellations until 2017

Statement

Date: March 6, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Representative James Lankford (R-OK) released the following statement in response to today's Obama Administration announcement that would--among other things--delay the continued cancellation of health insurance plans as ACA is implemented:

"Today's action by the Administration continues to acknowledge--in the 13th hour--that Obamacare did not allow many Americans to keep their doctor or health plan if they liked them. Once again the President is trying to impose his preferences on American families and businesses. Frustratingly, today's action is too late for the thousands of central Oklahomans in my district who received cancellation notices for plans they liked and then were forced to look elsewhere for inferior plans. People in my district are increasingly impatient with this Administration constantly changing the rules of the game on a whim for purely political reasons. If the President wants to help individuals and businesses, he should sign the House bill that delays the entire law and all of its mandates."
