Issue Position

Our nation's health care plan is felt in the heartbeat of every home.

Issue: The Affordable Care Act is unraveling to show its true colors. It is preventing the growth of business, affecting the quality of health care, and putting Washington in charge of what should be our personal and family decisions.

As the expansion of Medicaid spreads across America, Medicaid's reimbursement rates to providers are significantly lower than private insurance companies. The burden costly premiums will be put on employers who will be forced to drop insurance for employees. As a direct result, more Americans will have to resort to Medicaid and government exchanges to provide care for their families subsequently forcing pay cuts for doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who take care of us all -- including our children and seniors. A vicious, unhealthy cycle will continue sending us all downward in the spiral with little hope of recovery.

At the end of the day we still don't know everything about the law that was passed.

Solution: We must release a health care plan that allows for realistic, long term solutions. Creating a competitive free market for health care will naturally bring down prices and increase the quality of health care available.

Promoting health insurance sales across state lines and Health Savings Accounts (HSA's), would be a long term solution to high health care cost. This long term solution would create a competitive market that would drop premiums and provide Americans the freedom to choose quality and affordable health care without having the large burden to American job creators.
