Cotton Statement on the Situation in Ukraine

Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) today issued the following statement on the situation in Ukraine:

"Events are moving quickly in Ukraine, but one thing is clear: the Ukrainian people want to chart their own course and they reject Russian domination. The U.S. should actively assist the Ukrainian people with a peaceful transition to a new Ukraine that respects the rights of its people, improves their living conditions, and secures their future free of Russian meddling.

"I urge President Obama to stand with the Ukrainian people and stand up, for once, to Vladimir Putin. As usual, Putin is all in to achieve his nationalist, expansionist aims. It's time for Western leaders to show clear thinking and some spine to thwart those aims."
