Discovering the GREEN Act at Our Wisconsin Technical Colleges

Press Release

Date: Feb. 26, 2014

Last month, Senator Baldwin announced her new legislation -- the GREEN Act, or the Grants for Renewable Energy Education for the Nation Act.

This new piece of legislation gives competitive grant funding for clean energy career and technical training programs, so that our students are better trained and better equipped for the high-skilled jobs of the future.

Over the course of the last month, Tammy has visited a number of Wisconsin's Technical Colleges -- including Madison Area Technical College in Madison and Fort Atkinson, Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids, and Milwaukee Area Technical College in downtown Milwaukee.

Wisconsin is fortunate to have a strong technical college system that is working to provide Wisconsin businesses a skilled workforce so that they can compete and grow. The GREEN Act will help open the doors of opportunity for our students, support the continued development of this important sector, and strengthen our Made in Wisconsin economy.
