Issue Position

As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I have been heavily involved in reducing crime and promoting justice both in Illinois and across the nation. We need to provide better options for young people who are at-risk of becoming involved in gangs or other criminal activities. We need to strengthen law enforcement agencies, so they can attract the brightest and best. We need to ensure that our criminal justice laws are firm and fair, even while ensuring that all citizens are provided with the guarantees and protections afforded them by the U.S. Constitution.
