Issue Position

Job creation is my top priority. The only way to create jobs is by restoring fiscal sanity to Washington. Years of reckless spending have led our country into a dire economic situation overtaken by mountains of debt and a tax code that is crippling our nation's job creators and North Carolina's hardworking families. I am committed to working with my House colleagues to find commonsense solutions to halt the wasteful spending, reform a cumbersome tax code, and decrease the size of government.

It is immoral for us to borrow from others to pay for things we don't need and can't afford. It is certainly not an American value to force tough economic choices onto future generations. We have tough choices ahead. As your elected Member of Congress, I will prioritize spending and get us back on the right track to an economic recovery. Small businesses and investors should be confident that Washington is working with them to promote a stable economy and not burdening them with complicated taxes and cumbersome regulations.
