Today, Senator Baldwin spoke with Judy Clark of WEAU in Eau Claire about the Minimum Wage Fairness Act and the work she's doing to continue building and strengthening our 'Made in Wisconsin' economy.

Tammy believes that our economy is strongest when we expand opportunity for everyone. The Minimum Wage Fairness Act will raise the minimum wage to $10.10 over three years, lifting it closer to its historic level, and will index the minimum wage to inflation in the future so that low-wage workers do not continue to fall behind.

More than 587,000 Wisconsinites will get a raise under the Minimum Wage Fairness Act and would see an average annual raise of $1,390 in their wages. According to the Economic Policy Institute, increasing the minimum wage would boost Wisconsin GDP by $516.6 million and generate 1,800 new jobs after 3 years. Raising the minimum wage would also boost the pay of 333,000 women in Wisconsin, another step forward to closing the gender wage gap.

It's time to reward the hard work of Wisconsinites by raising the minimum wage so an honest day's work pays more.
