WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Representative Steven Horsford (NV-4) released the following statement after Senate Republicans blocked legislation to extend emergency unemployment insurance for 1.7 million Americans, including more than 21,000 Nevadans:
"Senators who blocked the extension of unemployment insurance benefits to 1.7 million Americans either do not understand or do not care what it is like to live on the brink. Unemployment insurance benefits are an important lifeline for those struggling to feed their family, pay their rent, and put gas in the car to go to job interviews. It is well past time that Congress acts to extend this financial bridge."
