WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Representative Steve Daines today released the following statement regarding his vote in opposition to raising the nation's borrowing limit without addressing Washington's spending addiction:
"Washington's spending addiction jeopardizes the future of our country. Raising the nation's borrowing limit without solving the underlying problems that have led to our debt crisis is irresponsible. I was elected to serve the people of Montana and ensure their voices are heard in Washington, even if President Obama refuses to listen. I refuse to stand by and allow Washington's spending addiction to continue putting the security of our nation and our children and grandchildren's futures at risk."
