Ayotte: Obamacare Delays Highlight Deep Flaws in Unworkable Law

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) said that the administration's decision today to delay Obamacare mandates for smaller businesses reflects deep flaws with the president's health care law. On Monday afternoon, the administration announced that a temporary one year reprieve it granted last year to all businesses will continue for another year for businesses with between 50 to 99 full-time workers. Senator Ayotte released the following statement regarding today's announcement from the administration:

"This is the latest example of the Obama administration reinterpreting the law for political convenience. These continuous delays in implementation show that Obamacare isn't working. The law has been a disaster for those who have lost their plans or are facing higher premiums - and New Hampshire businesses have told me that Obamacare's costly mandates will result in fewer hires.

"While today's announcement from the administration might delay the law's inevitable higher expenses for some businesses, it does nothing to help individuals who are struggling right now under this flawed law. It's time for the administration to finally work across party lines to find real solutions that will improve our health care system and bring down health care costs."
