Wittman Opposes Debt Ceiling Raise

Statement

Date: Feb. 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Representative Rob Wittman (VA-1) released the following statement on his vote against the proposed debt ceiling raise through March 15, 2015:

"Borrowing additional funds without spending reform is unacceptable. There must be efforts to address future spending. I have not supported a "clean" debt ceiling raise in the past, and opposed this effort today because the Congress cannot continue to approve out-of-control spending. We must continue to work toward a more efficient, sustainable federal budget."
