Cassidy Opposes Debt Ceiling Increase Without Spending Reforms

Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. today voted against raising the debt ceiling. The legislation to raise the debt ceiling provided no new cuts in spending or reforms to save Medicare and Social Security. Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"The budget deficit is above $500 billion and our national debt is over $17 trillion. We can't just talk about cutting spending, we need to do it."
