U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman, a member of the Financial Services Committee, issued the following statement ahead of today's vote to suspend the nation's debt limit.
"The American people can't afford to write President Obama a blank check. Default isn't an option and that's exactly why the debt limit warns Washington when too much spending threatens our economy and our children. Today, our nation's $17 trillion of debt is the greatest threat to growing a healthy economy but, instead of solving problems, a majority of Washington politicians are ignoring our dependency on debt."
