Issue Position

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIMITED GOVERNMENT

Limiting the size and scope of government is the best blueprint to ensure economic freedom and prosperity. As our economy and tax revenue continues to grow, there is going to be increased pressure on lawmakers to spend wildly and freely. It is imperative that we say NO to the liberal tax-and-spend mentality that has gotten so many states in trouble. As a conservative, I support marketplace solutions, not government mandates, and I will balance the budget with spending cuts, NOT accounting gimmicks or tax hikes. I believe we can shore up our finances and provide higher quality services by eliminating duplicity and inefficiency throughout bloated state agencies, reforming education, drug testing welfare recipients, and ensuring government is accountable and transparent.
