Today, Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. voted against H.R. 7, a dangerous bill that restricts women's personal health care decisions, and punishes families and small businesses.

"Instead of focusing on job creation, today the house voted on a bill that penalizes small businesses and families with increased taxes, and inserts politicians into personal health care choices," said Bera. "As a doctor, and the father of a daughter, I'm appalled. This obsession with chipping away at a woman's right to make her own medical decision is inexcusable, and it's the wrong priority. Americans have made it clear: they don't want politicians interfering with personal medical decisions. They want Congress focused on rebuilding an economy that works for the middle class. Let's stop rehashing long-resolved issues, keep the politicians out of the exam room, and work together on getting Americans back to work."
