The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill today to fund the government through September 2014. Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. offered the following comment:
"Today's passage of the bipartisan funding bill is a positive step for our economy and our country. While it's not perfect, it does roll back the reckless across-the-board spending cuts enacted last year, while reducing our long-term spending in a more responsible way, and providing some stability to Sacramento families and businesses. It also funds investments of particular importance to our region that I've been fighting for, like fire and police services that keep Sacramento County families safe, education programs that prepare our children for the 21st century economy, and upgrades to the Folsom Dam that are reducing the risk of floods in Sacramento County, and creating jobs."
