Congressman Ami Bera, M.D. made the following comments on Thursday's bipartisan passage of the Murray Ryan budget agreement:
"Tonight's bipartisan passage of the budget is a promising step in the right direction, and a sign that Congress can work together to put the American people before politics. While it isn't perfect, I voted to pass the budget because it at least partially repeals the foolish across-the-board spending cuts known as sequestration and replaces them with more strategic adjustments, it reduces our long-term budget, and it provides Sacramento County residents and businesses with the certainty they need about federal spending for the next two fiscal years."
