Griffin: House Passes Bill to Eliminate Taxpayer-Funded Presidential Campaigns, Support Medical Research

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after House passage of the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act (H.R. 2019):
"As a strong believer in medical research, especially on diseases and disorders that affect our children, I was proud to cosponsor and support this bipartisan legislation. This bill will eliminate taxpayer funding for presidential campaigns and conventions and redirect that money to support critical pediatric medical research."
The Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act is named after a 10-year-old advocate for children with cancer who was herself diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012. Gabriella passed away on October 26, 2013.
