Griffin: House Passes Three Bills to Encourage Job Growth, Safely Increase American Energy Production

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statements after the House passed three bills this week to encourage job growth and safely increase American energy production:

"Arkansas is a leader in hydraulic fracturing innovation and natural gas production, and these three bills will enhance our ability to complete important infrastructure projects, safely increase American energy production and create jobs."

Rep. Griffin is a cosponsor of the Protecting States' Rights to Promote American Energy Security Act (H.R. 2728), which would preserve states' authority to regulate hydraulic fracturing and prohibit the U.S. Department of the Interior from enforcing duplicative federal regulations in any state that already has regulations.

The Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act (H.R. 1965) would streamline the leasing process for onshore oil and natural gas projects on federal lands.

The Natural Gas Pipeline Permitting Reform Act (H.R. 1900) would set time limits on the existing federal review process for natural gas pipeline applications, requiring the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to approve or deny applications within one year of receiving them.
