Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02), a member of the Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement after Democratic Senator Max Baucus (MT), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, released the first in a series of tax reform discussion drafts:
"Senate Democrats' tax reform ideas likely differ in many important ways from those my colleagues and I in the House have already proposed and continue to develop, but I appreciate Chairman Baucus's willingness to seek common ground and move the conversation forward. I'm focused on creating a fairer, simpler and flatter tax code, and I look forward to reviewing the Senate's ideas, building on our own and working toward comprehensive tax reform that spurs job creation and helps grow our economy naturally, from the bottom up."
