U.S. Congressman Sean Duffy (WI-07) released the following statement after joining his colleagues in the House to pass multiple pieces of legislation that would bolster our energy production and create jobs:
"It's time for the President to get out of the way, and join the Energy Revolution", says Rep. Sean Duffy. "Today, thanks to the private sector, the United States is poised to become a global energy leader, decreasing our dependency on hostile foreign governments in the Middle East and creating hundreds of thousands of great paying jobs. Sadly, President Obama and his Administration have been far from partners in this game-changing energy revolution."
Duffy touted his votes this week for three bills to support energy industries in the 7th District such as sand mining. "This is something we can do right now to lower energy costs for families and businesses in these difficult economic times."
"Beholden to special interest environmental groups, President Obama has stubbornly ignored scientific and economic reality. It's what led him to reward his 'friends' and invest taxpayer dollars in industry lemons like Solyndra." Duffy continues, "As the President blocks common sense energy policies to pursue his 'alternative energy only' plan, I believe we need an 'all of the above' energy policy. I'm proud that Congress and the private sector will continue to work together to pursue policies that will lower energy costs, create jobs, and make us an energy independent nation."
