Issue Position: JOBS AND THE ECONOMY

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

West Virginia's economy runs on coal. West Virginia coal also powers this country as the most reliable energy resource available.

Despite the proven benefits of coal, President Obama insists on waging a war on coal that will hurt our country and will devastate West Virginia. Not only will our local jobs be lost and our economy slowly crumble, but energy costs will also soar in the wake of stifling regulation on our coal industry.

President Obama is willing to sacrifice the livelihoods of West Virginians for the sake of scoring political points with liberal environmentalists.

In Congress, Charlotte Lane will be the first line of defense against Obama's war on coal. She'll stick up for West Virginia's jobs, be an avid spokeswoman for the values of the coal industry, and promote West Virginia's energy resources on a national audience.

West Virginia's energy sector has much to offer to the country as a whole. It is also the backbone of our economy, and Charlotte Lane will make protecting the coal industry her top priority in Congress.

In the end, sticking up for West Virginia coal will result in improving the economy and creating more jobs right here at home. Without a clear voice speaking out against his liberal policies, President Obama will do the exact opposite.
