Cassidy Praises Passage of Terry-Cassidy Obamacare Transparency Bill

Press Release

Date: Jan. 17, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. praised the House of Representatives for passing H.R. 3362, the Exchange Information Disclosure Act. Dr. Cassidy is an original sponsor of the bill with Congressman Lee Terry (R-Neb.)

This legislation requires the President and Secretary of Health and Human Services to make transparent key information on how Obamacare is operating, particularly the federally-administered exchange. The bill would ensure the public and decision-makers in Congress and the states have the necessary data points to identify the flaws with enrollment and the status of those flaws. Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:

"If the government is going to require people to pay for Obamacare, they have an obligation to ensure tax dollars are spent transparently and responsibly. The Exchange Information Disclosure Act requires both. This is a step forward for holding the government accountable to the people it serves."
