We must unleash the American free market.
In history, there are only two models for how goods and services are produced and traded , thereby creating or not creating prosperity. The first model is from the primitive dawn of time wherein transactions between people take place by force, regulation or rule, causing one person to win what another person loses. It is referred to as a "zero sum game", or "redistribution." It creates no new wealth or prosperity, merely moves prosperity to the most powerful or influential. The second concept puts transactions between parties onto a level and lightly regulated playing field, such that a transaction is only consummated when both parties perceive a benefit to themselves in doing it. This is referred to as "win-win", or free market capitalism, and it creates new wealth and freedom for both parties to the transaction.
This explains why government doesn't create jobs and never has, but the government can absolutely kill jobs with excessive taxation, bureaucracy and red tape. History makes clear that the process of people being free to trade, constantly innovate and organize themselves into specialties creates widespread prosperity. And prosperity is lost when government bureaucracy, red tape, and excessive taxation work against this process. Proof of this is demonstrated by small businesses who are the innovation centers of our country and are also the engines of the American economy. They create two-thirds of the new jobs in America, year after year, by competing to produce better products at less expensive prices so that people will buy them. To get our economy moving and creating jobs, government simply must get out of the way of the job creators of this country, reduce the barriers to entrepreneurship, and reduce the regulatory climate to encourage competition within free markets.
