Today, Representative Steven Horsford (NV-4) visited with immigration reform activists who are fasting to urge Congress to take action on commonsense immigration legislation.
"It was a privilege to meet the brave and inspiring leaders from across the country who are willing to sacrifice so much to raise awareness about the importance of fixing our broken immigration system," said Horsford. "The stakes are too high to continue stalling. Passing comprehensive reform is not about politics, it's about people. If Congress could show just a morsel of courage, we could get this done. I stand strong with the fasters and urge Speaker Boehner to listen to the American people and bring H.R. 15 to the floor for a vote."
Since November, the "Fast for Families" group (which includes faith leaders, immigrant rights advocates, and labor community members) has camped on the National Mall to pressure members of Congress to pass immigration reform.
