Improving our educational system is the key to America winning the long game in developing the best, most highly skilled workforce in the world. As such, I'm working to promote innovative investments in education within the Second District-- from pre-kindergarten to post-graduate and workforce training. This is how we will grow our talent base and become a magnet for national and international companies looking to hire a top-notch workforce.
In order to get American education back on top, I support reforms such as expanding access to early childhood education, creating more rigorous K-12 curriculums, renewing our focus on career and technical education, and dramatically reducing the cost of college.
One of the first things I did in Congress was start the Second Congressional District STEM Academy to develop the next generation of American innovators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Talented people generate creative ideas for companies, and in turn those companies are able to grow and create jobs. As a result, you have strong communities where people are able to work where they live, where they are able to send their children to schools that offer a solid education and where they have limitless access to opportunity. That's the kind of community I envision for everyone who calls the Second District home. .
I am committed to ensuring that the federal government provides students with the resources they need to compete globally, and to drive America toward a more prosperous future.
