U.S. Representative Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) praised House passage of a 1.5 percent cost-of-living adjustment for veterans, which includes disability compensation and survivor benefits. S. 893, the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act, passed the House yesterday by voice vote. It now goes to the president's desk for signature.
"We honored our nation's heroes on Veterans Day Monday, and this cost-of-living increase is a timely gesture of appreciation for their years of service, sacrifice and dedication on behalf of our nation. I am pleased that the House and the Senate could work together in a bipartisan fashion to secure this benefits increase for our veterans and their families, and I urge the president to sign this into law as quickly as possible."
