Today, Representative Tim Walz released the following statement after Governor Dayton and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced funding for "Corridors of Commerce" projects, including key pieces of Highway 14.
"I applaud Governor Dayton and MnDOT for making this down payment on Highway 14. For southern Minnesotans, this stretch of road is a true corridor of commerce and today's commitment will improve the safety and economic growth of the region. I will continue to work with the Governor, mayors, and other local leaders to build the coalition to make Highway 14 four lanes border to border."
Representative Walz has been a staunch advocate for improving safety and economic development in southern Minnesota by expanding Highway 14 and making it four lanes, border to border. Today's announcement is a positive step forward in this mission and he will continue to advocate for its completion.
