Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) criticized the announcement by EPA Atmospheric Programs Director Sarah Dunham that the EPA will unilaterally regulate methane emissions from oil and gas drilling. This is despite not having Congressional authorization for this activity. Dr. Cassidy released the following statement:
"Another day, another Obama regulation that will increase costs on Louisiana families and put good paying energy jobs in jeopardy. This ruling will do little for the environment, but will likely destroy jobs throughout south Louisiana. The EPA is the frontline of this Administration's war against Louisiana energy and manufacturing economies."
