Dear Friend:

Indianapolis is full of hard working people, organizations doing good for our community and companies that are providing jobs for our Hoosiers. It's a city where those who have been blessed are willing to offer a helping hand to their neighbor and a city that has never met an obstacle it couldn't overcome. Indianapolis embodies the true sense of community--one reason I am so proud to serve its residents in Congress.

After dealing with the government shutdown crisis which kept me in Washington for far too long, I am looking forward to coming home for a week to spend time with you all. I will be traveling around the 7th Congressional District to meet with various community members and organizations who will update me on how they are making Indianapolis a safe, enjoyable and productive place to live.

I kicked off my time at home yesterday by touring the IndyGo facility where I had the pleasure of meeting many hard working bus operators. During my visit, I learned more about the impact IndyGo has on our community, including how they plan to use a $10 million federal TIGER grant I worked with them to secure earlier this summer. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, it is important to me to ensure that our city continues to improve its public transportation system. The future is bright for public transportation in Indianapolis and I thank IndyGo for their commitment to providing first-class service to all their riders.

We will continue to face challenges but I look forward the work ahead as we strive to make Indianapolis a better city. If there is anything I can do for you, please call my office and let me know how I can help.

Sincerely,

André
