Bera and Peters Host U.S. Trade Representative Froman for Democratic Freshmen

Congressmen Ami Bera. M.D. (CA-7) and Scott Peters (CA-52), hosted Ambassador Michael Froman, the United States Trade Representative, at a meeting with Democratic freshmen members. The forum provided members a chance to ask questions, air concerns, and gain a better understanding of the trade debates surrounding the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) that Congress may consider in the coming months.

Bera and Peters offered the following comment:

"The Trans Pacific Partnership and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership will be the first major trade negotiations that freshman members of Congress will take part in. Given the potential major impacts of these agreements, it was important for us to hear from Ambassador Froman and discuss the concerns that some of our constituents have expressed about how a deal might affect them. We were honored to host the meeting."
