Griffin Asks Arkansans to Share Their Stories about Obamacare

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement in advance of Tuesday's Ways and Means Committee hearing on the problems Americans are experiencing with the Obama Administration's implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare:

"It's undeniable that Obamacare is failing to deliver on its promises: workers and families are losing their health insurance plans, costs are going up and folks are losing their jobs or having their hours cut. On top of that, the Obamacare website -- which cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars -- is a bust. If this is how the federal government plans a website, Americans certainly don't want Washington designing their health care system.

"Many Arkansans have told me about Obamacare's impact on their families, and before I question a senior Obamacare official during Tuesday's hearing on the law's implementation, I'd like to hear from more of them. I've set up a simple form on my website so folks can share their stories."

The Ways and Means Committee will hear testimony from Marilyn Tavenner, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. CT. CMS is responsible for the operation of Obamacare's exchanges through the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO).

Rep. Griffin recently announced he had cosponsored The American Health Care Reform Act, which would repeal and replace Obamacare with real, patient-centered reform.
