Today is an historic day in this country. Despite a Republican-led government shutdown, we are celebrating the opening of Get Covered Illinois, one of our nation's new Health Insurance Marketplaces that will provide affordable health insurance options to millions of people across the country.

Starting today, you can learn about the health plan choices and the financial assistance available to you. There are in person assistors trained and stand ready to help you understand your options and enroll in the coverage that best meets your needs. While you have until March 31, 2014 to enroll, you will need to act by December 15th if you want coverage that begins January 1st. You can get more information here or calling 866-311-1119.

I've also created an Obamacare Toolkit which is designed to help you learn about the many benefits of Obamacare and how you can take advantage of them. Whether you have insurance or need insurance, if you're a small business or a health care provider, Obamacare will have benefits for you.
