"Tonight we succeeded in passing an agreement to reopen the U.S. Government and to continue to pay America's debts. This puts an end, for now, to a fight in Washington that only hurt our country.

America is resilient and will recover as long as we can put this struggle behind us and work together moving forward for our Nation's benefit. Our energies will be best used by enacting policies that help create jobs by investing in our infrastructure, education, and scientific research to promote innovation and entrepreneurship - the things that make America great.

I ask all people to realize a renewed sense of partnership and cooperation. No nation on earth can surpass what we can achieve by working together."
