Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement after House passage of the Head Start for Low-Income Children Act (H.J.Res. 84):
"Hardworking Americans are looking to Washington for a solution to the government shutdown. Unfortunately, President Obama and Senator Harry Reid want to keep the shutdown going regardless of the consequences for low-income families. That's not right, and that's why I support this legislation that will keep the Head Start program funded and keep families from suffering from the shutdown."
H.J. Res. 84 provides funding for the Head Start for Low-Income Children program, commonly known as Head Start and represents the 10th funding bill passed by the House to keep critical programs operating during the federal government shutdown.
