Date: Oct. 9, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) met with Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), the co-author of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act, on keeping flood insurance rates low for American families. Members of the Congressional Home Protection Caucus were also present. Congressman Cassidy released the following statement:

"A bi-partisan consensus is emerging that the National Flood Insurance Program must be reformed. This means adjusting the Biggert-Waters Act so middle-class families are not priced out of the flood insurance market. It also means working to maintain and restore the home value of the many Americans facing excessive rate increases. Keeping flood insurance rates affordable is a top priority."
