Cornyn: No Clean Debt Limit Increase

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after voting against a clean debt limit increase:

"After watching President Obama add over six trillion dollars to our debt since taking office, I cannot support a clean debt limit increase.

"We are currently in a fiscal crisis, with spending and debt at unsustainable levels. President Obama has repeatedly shown that he cannot be trusted to make fiscally sound decisions, and until we make concrete reforms to our out-of-control spending habits, I will not support a debt limit increase."
