Rep. Boozman Accepting Applications For Summer Congressional Page Program

Deadline for consideration is March 22, 2005

Washington, Feb 24 -

Congressman John Boozman (AR-03) announced today that he is accepting applications for the Congressional Page Program's 2005 summer session. To be qualified to serve as a page, applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of appointment and have a cumulative grade point average of "B" or better (3.0 or 85/100). All applications must be received by March 22, 2005.

School year page program applicants may only serve during their junior year of high school. Summer program participants may only serve during the summer before or the summer after their junior year.

The first summer session will last from June 13 to July 1 and the second summer session will begin July 11 and conclude July 29.

All applicants must complete an application form and provide their social security number; a signed parental consent form; an official transcript of all high school grades to date; a 50-100 word essay on why they want to be a Congressional page; a resume of extracurricular activities and three letters of recommendation.

There are no assurances that Boozman's applicants will receive appointments to the program. However, Boozman will carefully consider each application and recommend a primary and alternate candidate for both sessions.

Completed applications should be received by March 22, 2005 in Boozman's office at 207 West Center Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Interested candidates should contact Raye Brady at (202) 225-4301 for an application or to request more information on this program. (EDITORS NOTE: Please direct all media calls to Patrick Creamer at (202) 225-4301.)
