Walz Visits SAGE in Faribault

Today, Representative Tim Walz visited Faribault business SAGE Electrochromics to tour their facility and discuss workforce training initiatives with community leaders that will allow southern Minnesotans to seize opportunity and achieve the American Dream.

"We must continue to find new ways to promote opportunity and create a highly skilled American workforce that businesses like SAGE depend on," Rep. Walz said. "Doing so will grow the local economy and ensure that anyone who is willing to work for it has the opportunity to climb the economic ladder into the middle class and seize the American Dream."

Walz has long been a supporter of community and technical colleges that prepare and train students for opportunities in their communities to fill good-paying, middle-class American manufacturing jobs.

"Workforce training is critical to the success of businesses large and small and it's good to see that Representative Walz gets it," Kymn Anderson, President of the Faribault Chamber of Commerce, said. "We must continue working together, building coalitions from the local level on up, to promote, train, and create a highly skilled 21st century workforce that will grow Faribault's economy."

SAGE is the world's leading manufacturer of dynamic glass for windows, skylights, and curtain walls and recently invested $150 million in expanding their business in Faribault, which will ultimately create hundreds of new, good-paying jobs and more-than double their workforce.
