Griffin Working to Reach Agreement and Open Government

Statement

Date: Oct. 1, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement regarding his ongoing effort to reopen the federal government:

"As I have said for weeks, shutting down the federal government is terrible policy. I serve in Congress to reform and fix the problems with the federal government, not to shut it down. My heart goes out to all of those impacted by the shutdown, and I will continue to work with my colleagues -- both Republicans and Democrats -- to find a plan that will get the government running again. The Senate should join the House in a Conference Committee where historically we work out our differences."
