Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) -- a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform -- issued the following statement in response to Lois Lerner's departure from the Internal Revenue Service:

"Lois Lerner's departure from the IRS is long overdue but it does not relieve her of her duty -- given the waiver of her Fifth Amendment rights -- to answer questions before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. I will continue to work diligently to hold IRS officials accountable for the malfeasance of the agency."
