Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) issued the following statement after the passage of a Continuing Resolution by the House of Representatives that funds the government while defunding President Obama's signature health care law:

"The defunding of ObamaCare is a basic issue of fairness. The harmful effects of ObamaCare are being forced upon everyday Americans while the politically connected -- from big business to members of Congress -- have been provided relief from the financial burdens of this law. Americans want the damage being caused by ObamaCare to stop and Congress has listened. I was proud to vote with my House Republican colleagues to keep the government open while ending funding for this harmful law. I look forward to watching this debate unfold in the US Senate and urge Senator Harry Reid to allow an up or down vote on the merits. It's only fair."
