Keating, Kennedy Announces $1.7 Million for Airport Road Water System in Fall River

Congressman Bill Keating (MA-9) and Congressman Joe Kennedy (MA-4) today announced that Fall River will receive $1,784,750 from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the city's Airport Road water system. This EDA investment will allow for improvements to the water system that provides and stores water for commercial and industrial users in Fall River. The upgrades will benefit the new Massachusetts Accelerator for Biomanufacturing (MAB) at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, which will be the anchor tenant of a new bio-park in the city.

"Receipt of this funding marks another critical step forward for the City and for our region," said Congressman Keating. "I applaud Fall River's continued attention to aging infrastructure, such as the Airport Road water system, and congratulate them on receiving this grant. These investments will directly benefit generations to come by supporting industry and providing employment opportunities while improving our community."
