Creating and retaining quality jobs is Karen's top priority. A leader in the MA Senate on economic development, she understands that creating a vibrant and nurturing climate for growth is vital to the success our communities.
Karen gets that we need to break out of the past with a new, pioneering way of doing things to get our economy going. She believes that we can spur innovation and create the jobs of today and tomorrow by helping entrepreneurs with good ideas expand their access to loans, capital and technology. And that we need to make it easier for small businesses to succeed and create jobs by reducing red tape, lowering their taxes, and reforming our outdated tax code so it works for them.
In Congress, Karen will also lead the fight for funding for President Obama's executive order to rebuild America's electric grid infrastructure. Here in New England we are all too aware of the effects of climate change. As our region deals with extreme weather and damage to our power system, we need to upgrade the electrical grid to make it safer, protect our gradually rebounding economy and allow for greater use of green technology like wind, solar and renewable power.
Karen knows that the best way to keep our economy growing is to ensure that working families have access to good-paying sustainable jobs and job creation will be her number one focus in Congress.
