Rep. Mark Takano released the following statement after the Sikh Temple in Jurupa Valley was vandalized by the word "terrorist" being spray painted on a wall surrounding the temple:
"I'm appalled by the recent actions of an unknown perpetrator who has committed an act of unthinkable intolerance against the Sikh Temple in Jurupa Valley. These types of actions have no place in Riverside County and I have grave concerns about such unfounded, ignorant statements being levied against peaceful members of our community.
"I urge the Riverside County Sherriff's office to conduct its investigation swiftly and to bring the perpetrators to justice."
